The Bluebirds (5-8) bring a three game winning streak into Falmouth to take on the Pendleton County Wildcats who sit at (8-10). Highlands started off this season much like they did last year by losing their first five. But since Christmas the Birds have won five and lost three. The Wildcats, who have been hindered with a rash of injuries, are coming off an emotional 75-77 loss to Grant County just four days ago.
Highlands will spread the ball around fairly evenly as they have four players averaging at least 8 points or better. The Birds are led by senior Parker Harris who is averaging 13.6 points per game. The 6’4, Harris is also a two time winner of the 8th Region’s golf tournament.
Due to injuries, only five players have played in each of Pendleton County’s 18 games this season. This current version of the Wildcats are led by Michael Antrobus who is averaging 14.4 points per game. Antrobus has sunk 42 three point goals to date. A big key to tonight’s matchup will be how well Hunter Leah can control the inside versus the lanky Birds. Leah is averaging nearly 10 rebounds per game.
